WOLAK: CHAVEZ IS AFRAID OF THE TITLE LOSS

Although Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (41-0-1, 30 KO) currently fights as a middleweight and his next opponent Paweł Wolak (27-1, 17 KO) is a genuine light middleweight, the fighters probably will not be allowed to weigh more than 158 lbs before the bout scheduled on September 11 in Culiacan, Mexico. According to Wolak, the party responisble for the decision is the camp of Chavez, the WBC Silver title holder.

- I suppose that the people of Chavez decided to change the weight limit because they are afraid the belt loss – Wolak explained. – His camp didn’t want to accept me as the next opponent. They tried to engage Carlos Nascimento – the fighter I beat one year ago. By the way, I think that I’ve defeated better rivals than Chavez in my professional career. I’ve seen several of his bouts and I don’t think he’s as good as people introduce him. I’m convinced that I’ll win the fight.

Wolak is aware that the upcoming bout is his chance of a lifetime and a possible victory over Chavez can result in a fight for WBA light middleweight belt against Miguel Cotto. - I know that defeating Chavez can change my life completely - the Pole said. - I feel very well. I'm working very hard with my coach, Aroz Gist. If I win on September 11, I hope that my promoter will organize my clash against Cotto. It's possible to beat everybody. I started training when I was 18, so I'm still young in this game. If I face Cotto, I'll do everything to beat him.
