WACH DESTROYS HAMMER, READY FOR DIMITRENKO

Mariusz Wach (22-0, 10 KO) easily defeated a former world youth champion, Christian Hammer (7-2, 4 KO) during a boxing show organised by Universum group in Schwerin, Germany. It was the first fight of the Pole after the 15-month break connected with an injured palm. It is possible that the next Wach’s rival will be Alexander Dimitrenko.

Besides the fourth round, the Pole’s advantage was unquestionable. The battle finished in the sixth one with a great combination of three punches. Wach started with a right uppercut and added a great left-right hook action. Hammer landed on the canvas and was unable to stand up again.

- After sparring sessions with top heavyweights I know that I won’t let myself be led by the nose – the “Polish Giant” said. - My means are really big. Now I need one or two fights with good rivals. However, if I have a chance to fight Dimitrenko, I need eight weeks to prepare myself and I’ll take it.

- Mariusz was boxing as befits a heavyweight boxer – said Andrzej Grajewski, the Pole’s manager. – We have a big chance to face Alexander Dimitrenko in a fight for the European title. We’ll be talking about it with Dietmar Poszwa.
