EBU middleweight king Grzegorz Proksa (28-1, 21KOs) expects to face WBA "regular" champion Gennady Golovkin (23-0, 20KOs) on September 1 in an HBO televised headliner. A deal is reportedly finalized, according to sources in both camps. Proksa returns from a revenge stoppage over British boxer Kerry Hope. He is not worried about Golovkin's power or taking the fight with a shorter than usual training camp.

"[Golovkin] is on the crest of the global elite. His accomplishments in amateur boxing speak for themselves - he became a world champion and won a silver medal. This is a very smart fighter. He doesn't throw alot of punches, but when he does [throw punches] he hits hard and he's accurate. Not surprisingly, others avoid fighting him....almost all of the top rated boxers of our division," Proksa said.

"I will not have a proper training [camp], but why should I wait? Under favorable circumstances for such a fight, I would prepare for 3-4 months, but I believe in myself. I want to know how I will look against the best and if my name will go down in history."
