MOSiR Hall, Zabrze, Poland - Highly ranked Polish light middleweight, Damian Jonak (33-0-1, 21 KO) continued his consistent but slow rise in the eyes of influential pundits with a dominant Saturday's unanimous decision over hard-hitting Brazilian Anderson Clayton (37-7, 32 KO). All three judges had the fight wide in favor of the local hero: 100-89, 99-90 and 97-92.
After cautious first round puncher from Sao Paulo exploded and hurt Jonak with a vicious right hook in the second stanza. Pole survived hard moments with relative ease and quickly regained control, although he suffered a cut from an accidental headbutt in the fourth. Methodical Jonak wasn't too effective with his punches to wobble Clayton but the pride of Silesia was active enough to take almost every round of the fight. Clayton was also knocked down in the seventh after left hand to the solar plexus.
