Patrick “The Machine” Majewski earned the vacant NABO middleweight title with a dominant unanimous decision win over Marcus Upshaw Saturday night at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi.

The scores were 100-89 twice and 100-88, with every round going to Majewski, who is promoted by Global Boxing.

Majewski, now 17-0 (11 KO), scored knockdowns in the fifth and six rounds and controlled the pace throughout with his superior technique and stamina. Upshaw now falls to 13-6-1 (6 KO).

“I feel great, but it still hasn’t set in yet,” said Majewski, 31, who is a native of Radom, Poland now living in Atlantic City, NJ. “Upshaw was a very tough opponent, but I was more than ready for this one. I got clocked a few times, but I kept my composure and made sure to hit him back stronger every time.

“I have a great team with me. It wasn’t just me who won the title, it was everyone. We all win and lose together.”

With the win, Majewski opens the door to big fights in a middleweight division full of big names and exciting matchups.
